During the night of February 8, 1920, in Yalta, in the south of Russia, a group of Russian filmmakers embarked illegally on a boat leaving for France. They are White Russians running away from the Bolshevik terror. They are film producers, directors, actors, actresses, screenwriters, cameramen, decorators, costume designers ... They settle in Montreuil near Paris, in a little film studio belonging to the Pathé society. Far from their homeland, they will invent a cinema which will, through its inventiveness and talent, upsets the history of the French cinema.
